Saraswati Puja

Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, art, speech, wisdom, and learning. She is also known as Sharada and is a part of the trinity of Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati.  Saraswati Puja is celebrated in honor of Saraswati. This celebration marks the conclusion of winter and the beginning of spring. Along with everyone worshipping and honoring Saraswati, this day is also very special to farmers across India as it means spring is here.

Although this pandemic may have altered the ways in which we normally celebrate, let’s remember to do our best with what we have and value the knowledge, music, art, speech, and wisdom within us and all around us. Happy Saraswati Puja!
